Vocalist, composer and producer, Jennifer “Red” Thorpe, is a Canadian jazz talent to watch. Following her Jazz Vocalist nomination at the 2012 Jack Richardson Music Awards in London, she recorded with Canadian jazz greats Mark Eisenman and Reg Schwager at Loach Engineering in Toronto. The session included her bossa arrangement of Willie P. Bennett’s, “The Lucky Ones” and a double-metre reinvention of Gordon Lightfoot’s, “Pussywillows, Cattails.” She also recorded Jobim tunes “Corcovado” and “Agua De Beber” in Portuguese and the classic Yves Montand hit, “Les Feuilles Mortes,” en français.
